Central to the textile traditions of the Ashante of Ghana, West Africa, are Adinkra and Kente cloths.  Printed or woven, these fabrics are a visual embodiment of proverbs, events and cultural values.  “Cloth Talks” presents a collection of these textiles, subtle and striking, drawn from private collections and from the Boakye family workshop in Nthonso, one of the only remaining traditional Adinkra villages. Hours are 8 a. m. to 10 p. m.

Kathleen Schaefer, store manager, said customers are encouraged to purchase anything ranging from their favorite childhood books to popular new titles for donation to children assisted by Communities in Schools of North Texas. “For us, there’s nothing more exciting [than] to put a book into the hands of children and see their face light up,” Schaefer said. “We’re excited about the ability to work with a group like this.
