Residential foreclosure postings for the July auction dropped significantly in Denton County and across the Dallas-Fort Worth region, records show.
A total of 512 homes were listed for the upcoming auction, down from 715 posted for the July sale a year ago, according to records from Foreclosure Listing Service Inc. of Addison.
Collin County saw a 21 percent drop; Tarrant County experienced a 23 percent decline; and Dallas had 33 percent fewer foreclosure postings. Collectively, the region showed a 28 percent drop.
For the year to date, records show a steadier decline, with 7 percent fewer postings in Denton County, the lowest of the four-county area. Collin County has experienced a 12 percent decline; Tarrant County is down 8 percent; and Dallas County, 13 percent.
George Roddy Sr., president of Foreclosure Listing Service, indicated in a news release that he remains guarded and is uncertain about what is driving down foreclosure postings in the region, adding that no major economic changes have occurred recently that might be causing the drop.
