Name: Amber Christine Dryden Briggle

Occupation: certified and licensed massage therapist and owner of Soma Massage Therapy

Birth date and place: March 3; Fargo, N.D. (Yes, I’ve seen the movie.)

Family: husband, Adam, 36; and children, Gracie, 5, and Lulu, 1.

My business philosophy is: Meet people where they’re at, emotionally and physically, every time. I don’t have any preconceived notions or expectations, and I approach every massage session with an open mind and open heart.

If I could, I’d be: an astronaut.

I’m so sick of: August in Texas. Seriously. Enough of that.

The four guests at my fantasy dinner party would be: my grandparents. My Gramma Jo is still kicking, but I sure miss the rest.

My hobbies are: I seem to always have a project. Maybe my hobbies are keeping busy and planting (intellectual and creative) seeds.

I wish I knew how to: bake a pie and play the fiddle. But probably not at the same time.

Nobody knows I: can yodel!

My guilty pleasure is: karaoke.

I drive a: pink cruiser bike with streamers on the handlebars!

I’d like to be driving a: pink cruiser bike without wind, hills or 100-degree temps!

My favorite restaurant is: Rooster’s Roadhouse. Though Rusty Taco is quickly growing on me.

I’m happiest when: I’m at home, it’s actually clean, and my family is with me.

If I won the lottery, here’s what I’d do just for me: I’d buy a little place in Hengelo, the Netherlands, where my family used to live, and I’d spend our summers there.

If I could change one thing about Denton, it would be: to have sidewalks everywhere, and Twilight Tunes year round.

Community activities: board member, League of Women Voters, Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Planning and Zoning Commission and Community Development Advisory Board.
