New subdivision coming to Oak Point

Another subdivision in Denton County will break ground soon.

A 250-acre subdivision of 700 to 800 single-family homes will break ground in Oak Point on July 9.

The community, called Wildridge, will be on Shahan Prairie Road, a quarter-mile east of FM720 along Lewisville Lake.

The division will be build by Crescent Communities and Taylor-Duncan Interests.


Real estate agent earns international credentials

Don Windle, a real estate broker with WW Real Estate Advisors, earned Counselor of Real Estate credentials, a recognition that less than 1,100 realtors nationwide have.

Windle was credentialed into the international group at a conference in Austin last month. The credentials show problem-solving ability, and Windle must adhere to the group’s code of ethics.

Windle, who was formerly a probate court judge and board-certified attorney in real estate law, has also been a licensed real estate broker since 1972.


Scholarship honors local marketing educator

The Marketing Educators of Texas is planning a silent auction during its annual conference next month to benefit a scholarship fund.

The scholarship fund was established to honor Ann Reed, former marketing educator at the Denton school district. The silent auction will be held at the Texas Career Education Conference in Houston on July 14-17, and the scholarship can benefit any Texas high school seniors who intend to major in business marketing education.

New emergency services business open

Paul Davis Emergency Services, a franchised cleanup and damage repair business, has opened a Denton location.

The company, which has more than 300 independently owned franchises across the country, specializes in restoring residential and commercial property after extreme situations or disasters such as storms and fires.

The business, at 710 S. Elm St., celebrated a ribbon-cutting on Friday.
