Land evaluation class set for next week
Local landowners can learn about how property is evaluated next week through a class offered by the Denton Central Appraisal District and AgriLife Extension agencies.
Kyle Wilhite, a residential appraiser, will teach attendees how to qualify for an agricultural land evaluation and will be available for questions about the process.
The class will be held Tuesday; registration is required by Monday. To register, contact Brandon Boughen or Pamela Hill at 940-349-2894. The class will cost $15, payable by cash or check at the door.
Computer repair shop getting new location
Geek on Wheels, a local computer repair and IT support business, is moving to a larger location later this month.
The new location at 625 Dallas Drive, Suite 450, will open July 14 and triple the retail space.
The business says it will offer IT demonstrations and classes, have custom demo stations and be able to handle a higher volume of work at a faster pace at the new location.
The company, which is moving from 512 N. Locust St., opened in Denton in 2001 and now serves the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Development to break ground Wednesday
A subdivision of more than 1,000 single-family homes will begin construction next week in Oak Point.
The community, called Wildridge, will have 1,194 homes over 385 acres on the shore of Lake Lewisville, east of FM720. Home prices will range from $230,000 to $450,000.
There will be a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday to kick off the project by Crescent Communities and Taylor-Duncan Interests.
