Little Guys Movers partners with nonprofit

Little Guys Movers has partnered with Move for Hunger, a national hunger relief association, in an effort to aid in the nonprofit's mission.

The moving service now will collect food items left behind in vacant homes and donate them  to the Denton Community Food Center, according to a press release.

The release also said Move For Hunger estimates food insecurity affects more than 4.3 million people in Texas, and 1 in 5 children in the state goes to bed hungry.

"When you're packing up your pantry, don't throw it out. Let us lighten your load and get it to people that can really use it," said Chris Hawley, co-owner of Little Guys Movers, in the release.

Community members are encouraged to donate cans and non-perishables from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the office of Little Guys Movers at 2201 Fort Worth Drive in Denton.
