Cavender's Boot City will hold a grand opening for its new Denton store on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 5-6, located at 3705 N. Interstate 35, just north of U.S. Highway 380.

The festivities will begin at 9 a.m. both days and are open to the public. The Cavender Cowboy, a 10-foot-tall cowboy on stilts, will appear and create balloon art for the kids. The store will host a barbecue lunch and provide live music by Antonio Moraes, son of famed professional bullrider Adriano Moraes.

Cavender's gift cards will be given to the first 50 customers on Friday and Saturday and there will be giveaways and prize drawings.

The 20,054-square-foot store houses Cavender's full line of men's, women's and children's western apparel, including handcrafted boots and hats.

Cavender's is based in Tyler and is a family-owned company with stores in 11 states.

"We plan to get involved in the Denton community and look forward to planting roots here," said Joe Cavender, the company president.
