Local agency hosts school supply drive

Denton County Friends of the Family is hosting a Back to School drive through Aug. 4.

Denton County Friends of the Family is a local nonprofit that supports the survivors of relationship violence through programs, outreach and advocacy.

The agency will collect the following most-needed school supplies:

  • Backpacks for all ages

  • Binders

  • Highlighter pens

  • Scissors for children and youth

  • Compasses

  • Protractors

  • Folders with brads

  • Colored pencils

  • Red, black and blue pens

  • Dividers

The agency will also accept donations of

  • 12-inch by 18-inch manilla paper

  • Tissue

  • Glue and glue sticks

  • No. 2 pencils

  • Pencil bags

  • Erasers

  • Rulers

  • Spiral notebooks

  • Loose leaf paper, both college-rule and wide-rule

  • Crayons and markers

Donors can drop off items to the agency’s outreach office at 4845 S I-35 E.

Volunteers are needed to pack backpacks with the supplies from Aug. 4-8.
