Rebecca Wenck and Julie Lee, both of Denton, were awarded degrees during SMU's December commencement ceremonies.
Wenck received a Master of Music in clarinet performance, while Lee received a Bachelor of Science in economics with finance applications.
Emily A. Page of Denton and Mary C. Varnell of Argyle were named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester at Samford University, each with at least a 3.5 grade-point average.
Colton Nolen of Denton was named to Tarleton State University’s “A” Honor Roll for the fall semester with a 4.0 grade-point average.
Nolen is enrolled at Tarleton’s Stephenville campus and majoring in wildlife management.
University of North Texas senior Sarah “Katie” Hammond was named to the UNT President’s List for the fall semester. This distinction is awarded to students who have earned a perfect grade-point average of 4.0. Hammond has achieved this recognition for the third semester in a row.
She is a 2008 Denton High School graduate and is pursuing a degree in interdisciplinary studies, early childhood through sixth grade, and English as a second language.
She is the daughter of Julie (Heffley) Hammond of Denton and the late David Hammond. Her grandparents are Sarah Heffley and the late John Heffley Sr., and Leon Hammond and the late Billie Jean Hammond, all of Denton.
