TWU administrator receives regional award

Jennifer Martin, senior associate provost at Texas Woman’s University, received the Award for Outstanding Contributions to Graduate Education from the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools, a peer-nominated award. Martin previously served as the dean of the TWU Graduate School, and her successor Larry DeFlore nominated her for the award.

She is currently chairwoman of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s Graduate Education Advisory Committee, and has worked with regional and national professional organizations.

First responders, military to face off on court

For the first time, Project INVEST (Injured Veterans Entering Sport Training) will host a “Battle of the Blackboards” basketball game between Denton first responders and members of the military from Fort Hood.

The game is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday with practices for first responders for Thursday and Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the TWU fitness and recreation center.
