North Central Texas College lands skills development grant

North Central Texas College and packaging manufacturing company Novolex earned a $298,225 Skills Development Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission.

With the grant, company leaders will work with NCTC to train 131 workers in manufacturing technologies. Trainees will learn different ways to work in the manufacturing technologies industry, like operating machines, forklifts and other parts of production.

Those who complete the program will earn an average hourly wage of $14.85.

Skills Development Fund grants are designed to introduce new workers to skilled jobs, and upgrade those already at work.
