Speaker to focus on issues facing immigrant and Latino students

Alejanda Rincon, a longtime educator who focuses on issues impacting students of color, will speak at Texas Woman's University on Thursday, Sept. 28. 

She will speak as part of the cultural Connections Speaker Series, an event series focused on bringing together community members from various cultural backgrounds to rally for change. 

Rincon is currently the assistant vice chancellor and chief of staff for the Office of Diversity and Outreach at the University of California, San Francisco. Her research and work on focused on issues impacting students of color, immigrant and English language learners. 

The free event is set for noon in the Hubbard Hall Banquet Room and is open to the public.
