The new flavor chemistry program at Texas Woman's University now has a lab.
Led by Xiaofen Du, a food scientist, students can earn a master's degree or doctorate in nutritution with an emphasis in flavor chemistry.
The program and lab are possible because of a partnership with Dr Pepper Snapple Group, the first university-based research center of its kind in the state.
At the lab, researchers can break down food compounds to analyze and develop new flavor compounds and replicate old flavors.
