Walt Wolfram, a professor at North Carolina State University, will answer questions after his film, "Talking Black in America" is show during the University of North Texas's Discovery Series Thursday, Oct. 19.
The film follows the descendants of American slaves, and their impacts on American life and language. Speech varieties in American American communities reflect different influences on African language systems and shows the creativity and resilience of people living through oppression and segregation.
The screening is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 19 at 4 p.m. in the General Academic Building, room G105. After the film, Wolferman and several UNT professors will answer questions from the audience.
