It's hasn't taken The Palm Tree long to become one of the most popular clothing shops in town.
As a matter of fact, it's been less than two years since owner Colin Grunewald opened The Palm Tree to provide the Denton community with fashion forward clothing and accessories at surprisingly affordable prices.
The Palm Tree thinks of itself more as a boutique and has quickly established itself as a fun place to shop. And Grunewald encourages his customers to make frequent stops at his shop. "We have fresh inventory arriving weekly," he said, "so there is always something new to see."
When notified of his selection as a Best of Denton winner, Grunewald is quick to give credit to his sales staff. It's their personal, helpful assistance to The Palm Tree customers that in just a couple of years has come to reflect their commitment to quality customer service.

Roxane Clark and Beth Klein at Sleeping Lizzards have prided themselves in finding or making things that no other stores provide for 23 years. The customer's input incorporates itself into the merchandise found at the store, and alongside its curious line of gems and ornaments, Sleeping Lizzards offers a host of custom "Denton" T-shirts.
Both owners are artists showcase their own work to support and showcase the creations of many diverse, local artists.

They are also able to help spruce up any of their customers existing pieces, with an in-house repairman with more than 30 years of experience.

Twice as Nice Resale

Twice As Nice provides a unique opportunity to buy upscale items at a good price and to donate items for resale while helping a good cause.
A staff of 175 volunteers run the store with the slogan "Purchase With A Purpose." A new furniture section has been added this past year.
The store has been open since 2004.
Proceeds go to Women to Women in support of the Pregnancy Resource Center and Living Choices where services are free. Pick up and delivery are offered for a fee.
"We would not be able to keep the store running without volunteers, donations and support from the community," says Brittney Bradshaw, communications director.
