All ages can learn authentic martial arts from award-winning instructors in Texas Isshinryu Karate Kai on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in March. The class will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Denia Recreation Center, 1001 Parvin St. Students will work on improving strength, flexibility and endurance while developing confidence and discipline. Cost is $40, but the first class on Tuesday is free and open for participants to try out. Call 940-349-8285.

Kids ages 7 to 15 can receive one-on-one instruction in indoor rock climbing at "Rock the Wall" from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, March 1-29, at Denia Recreation Center, 1001 Parvin St. Cost is $30. Register now for half-marathon training on Wednesdays and Saturdays, March 2 to May 21, at North Lakes Recreation Center, 2001 W. Windsor Drive. Show off how much you can lift in the ninth annual "Bench This!" bench press meet from 1 to 5 p.m. March 5 at North Lakes Recreation Center, 2001 W. Windsor Drive. All-male and coed teams can compete for the team champion banner, while individual participants can aim for awards presented by age category and for the best overall lift.

Anyone interested in playing a musical instrument or looking to improve their musical skills can receive well-rounded instruction in "Music in Motion" from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays, March 5-26, at Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center, 1300 Wilson St. The course costs $40 per person. Denton Parks and Recreation offers day camps for kids and teens ages 5 to 12, teen outdoor adventures for ages 11 to 15, cooking classes for ages 6 and older, and skateboard camps for ages 6 and older.
