The Upright Citizens Brigade doesn’t play it safe. The touring show comes to Texas Woman’s University tonight for a free performance.

With the Upright Citizens Brigade, anything could happen.

And that's part of the plan - unplan? - for the improvisational sketch comedy troupe.

The troupe's touring company performs in Denton at 8 p.m. today at Texas Woman's University in the Redbud Theatre Complex, on the north side of Hubbard Hall.

The troupe specializes in absurd, transgressive humor that lampoons 21st-century America.

The TWU Office of Intercultural Services and the TWU Drama Program sponsor the event.

The company's cast is handpicked from the best improv comedians in New York City and Los Angeles. The company has produced such notable performers as Amy Poehler, Horatio Sanz, Rob Corddry (The Daily Show), Ed Helms (The Daily Show, The Office) and Rob Riggle (Saturday Night Live, The Daily Show).

Tickets for the show are free, but are limited to two tickets per patron. Tickets must be picked up at the Redbud Theater box office at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the show or they will be released. For reservations, call 940-898-2510 between 1 and 5 p.m. today.
