Misa Ramirez, an Argyle mystery writer, joins two other local mystery writers in a book signing on Saturday at Barnes & Noble Booksellers Denton.

Mystery enthusiasts can stock up for the holidays and benefit a local elementary school literacy program.

Three local authors will sign copies of their latest books during a book fair at Barnes & Noble Booksellers Denton on Saturday.

Argyle author Misa Ramirez (the Lola Cruz mysteries) will sign copies of Pleating for Mercy, the first in her new Cozy Mystery series. Argyle mystery writer Liz Lipperman will sign copies of her recently released Liver Let Die. Denton mystery writer Wendy Lyn Watson will sign copies of her titles from the Mysteries a la Mode series.

The joint signing is part of a book fair benefiting Newton Rayzor Elementary School, the sole International Baccalaureate elementary school in the Denton school district. The school's PTA is raising money for a new playground at the school.

The book fair includes a showcase of the school's reading and arts program, the Book Talk Celebration. Barnes & Noble will give a percentage of the proceeds on sales made with special vouchers to the elementary school playground project.

The signing will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the local bookstore. The book fair will be held during bookstore hours on Saturday and will continue through Dec. 1. Shoppers can participate by asking their cashier for the Newton Rayzor Elementary School Book Talk Celebration voucher.

Barnes & Noble Booksellers is at Golden Triangle Mall, 2201 S. Interstate 35 E. For more information, call 940-383-9261.
