A Creative Art Studio's First Friday Denton will add a literary twist to the monthly music and art event as local author Robin Jansen joins the event as the "Five-Minute Novelist."
After sharing a few facts about themselves with Jansen, attendees will have their personal novel written in five minutes.
Also at the event, Texas-based solo acoustic guitarist Darrin Kobetich will perform from 7 to 9 p.m.
Kobetich classifies his sound as "ambient delta raga thrash grass." Originally from Long Island, N.Y., Kobetich moved from New York to Weatherford and spent a few years performing with various bands. He has provided music for theatrical presentations at Hip Pocket Theatre in Fort Worth and has self-released three CDs.
Meanwhile, local artists Crystal Nelson and Linka Behn will demonstrate art techniques in the studio. Visitors will be able to make their mark on a community art piece or create miniature work on an artist trading card, then trade for someone else's artwork.
The downtown studio houses the works of 45 local artists, and new works are always arriving at the studio.
Pieces by by Teri Muse, mixed media and encaustic artist, as well as watercolors by Claude Cheek, also can be viewed at the event.
A Creative Art Studio is located at 227 W. Oak St.
