Soprano Deborah Voigt sings the role of Brunnhilde for the first time with The Metropolitan Opera in the company's new production of Götterdämmerung, the final opera in Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen, led by Met principal conductor Fabio Luisi and directed by Robert Lepage.
Denton opera buffs can catch it at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cinemark Denton, 2825 Wind River Lane. Don't come expecting a feature-length show, though; Götterdämmerung runs six hours, 25 minutes long.
Tickets cost $24 for general admission, $22 for seniors and $16 for children.
The opera will be transmitted live around the world as part of "The Met: Live in HD" series. The Denton presentation of Götterdämmerung will be hosted by University of North Texas College of Music graduate Patricia Racette.
