Register by Friday for Guard Start, an introductory lifeguard course for ages 11 to 14, from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. July 9-19 at Civic Center Pool, 321 E. McKinney St. The class is the ideal transition between the learn-to-swim program and the lifeguard certification course. Cost is $75. Youths ages 10 to 17 can learn necessary skills to care for infants and children in Cross’ Lifeline’s “Child Care and Babysitting” course from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 14, at North Lakes Recreation Center, 2001 W. Windsor Drive. The course will cover diapering, feeding, CPR and first aid. The $58 fee includes a workbook and a completion card. Register by calling 940-349-8287.
