Trekkies, get ready to be as happy as a tribble on a Klingon qagh farm.
Fathom Events presents a one-night screening of two episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation to celebrate the popular science-fiction television series’ 25th anniversary.
Local Trekkies can suit up as their favorite characters for the event at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Cinemark Denton, 2825 Wind River Lane. That’s when Fathom joins CBS television to screen episodes 106 and 114 — “Where No One Has Gone Before” and “Datalore.”
The episodes are among the most popular in the story of galactic travelers under the command of Capt. Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart). Both episodes were painstakingly re-transferred from the original source material during the series’ ongoing (and pricey) restoration.
The event coincides with the Tuesday release of the series’ first season on Blu-ray.
The episodes will be introduced by Star Trek experts and restoration consultants Mike and Denise Okuda. Fans who attend will be among the first to get a sneak peek of the new special features.
Tickets for the event are available online at http://bit.ly/MHJ7Ah. Tickets cost $11.50 for adults, $10 for students with valid ID and seniors, and $9.50 for children.
