Texas Woman’s University art professors invited artists they admire to join the School of Arts’ biennial exhibition “Combinations.” The show opens Aug. 27 in the East and West galleries in the TWU Art Building, at Oakland Street and Pioneer Circle.

Faculty members invited artists who have influenced their work, artists they’ve shown with before and artists who have mentored them to submit work to the show. The show features an array of media — traditional painting, experimental video, sculpture — and gives visitors a broad view of the scope and variety of art being done by the faculty and guests, both in the community and in the classrooms.

The exhibit runs through Sept. 20. A reception will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 4. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday when the university is in session. Galleries are open on weekends by appointment only.
