Doctor Zhivago is the epic story of a young Russian doctor and poet, Yuri Zhivago (Omar Sharif), who struggles to be faithful to his wife, Tonya (Geraldine Chaplin), and chooses his political allegiance during the Bolshevik Revolution. The Cinemark movie theater in Denton will have two screenings of the 1965 classic at 2 and 7 p.m. today. The movie is the second in Cinemark’s Fall Classic Series, which offers viewers a chance to experience their favorite films again on the big screen — in a higher digital quality and with surround sound. The film, also starring Julie Christie and Tom Courtenay, was directed by David Lean. Doctor Zhivago is rated PG-13. Cinemark Denton is located at 2825 Wind River Lane. Up next: Chinatown (1974), starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway, on Sept. 13.
