Denton County Toy Store, a nonprofit organization serving children of qualified families, will collect donations during the Denton Holiday Lighting Festival, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 30, at the southeast corner of the Square, and at several drop-off locations prior to the festival. Visit .

Denton High School’s class of 2014 officers are sponsoring a walkathon at 3:15 p.m. Friday benefiting the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. Students are asked to purchase a donation card for $5 to participate, with those acquiring $25 or more in pledges receiving a T-shirt. The Denton Police Officers’ Association is accepting donations for “Shop With a Cop.” The program, with Interfaith Ministries of Denton, allows children to go shopping with police department officers and employees.
