Saturday morning at the Met
Denton opera buffs can catch the Metropolitan Opera’s staging of Hector Berlioz’s Les Troyens in The Met: Live in HD series at 11 a.m. Saturday at the local Cinemark movie theater, at 2825 Wind River Lane. The grand opera in five acts sets Virgil’s The Aeneid to music. It retells the story of Dido (Susan Graham, left) and her ill-fated love for Aeneas, and the betrayals in love and war between the Greeks and the Trojans. The production stars Deborah Voigt as Cassandra, Graham as Dido, Bryan Hymel as Aeneas and Dwayne Croft as Coroebus. Tickets for Saturday’s live broadcast, which will not be reprised, cost $24 for adults, $16 for children, $19 for students and $22 for seniors. Not rated, 345 minutes.
