The Randy Rogers Band performs today, the second week of the Red Dirt concert series at WinStar Casino in Thackerville, Okla.

Oklahoma casino taps Randy Rogers

WinStar World Casino is making way for Red Dirt music in its Global Event Center today — and every Thursday in February.

WinStar and Coors Light have teamed up to stage the series, dedicated to the Southwest’s best country and roots rock — all of which live under the umbrella of Red Dirt music.

The Randy Rogers Band plays tonight. The band is a little bit country, a little bit rock ’n’ roll when it approaches songs about everyday people having to make hard choices or weigh consequences.

In the summer of 2007, Rolling Stone ranked the Randy Rogers Band with U2 and the Rolling Stones in a list of the Top 10 Must-See Artists of the season.

Coming up Feb. 7 in WinStar’s Red Dirt series: Pat Green.
