“Celebrating Our Past to Commence Our Future” will honor Black History Month from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center, 1300 Wilson St. The celebration is open to the public. For more information, call 940-349-8575.

Join the 3P Challenge: Paddle, Pound and Pedal on Denton’s Greenbelt on March 16. This family adventure includes running, biking and canoeing on Denton’s Ray Roberts Greenbelt.

Teams of two, four or six will start with a 3.8-mile canoe trip down the Trinity River spillway, then complete a 2.5-mile run, and end the race with a 12-mile bike ride. Part of the challenge is finishing as a team. Register by March 8 by calling 940-349-7275, or find entry forms online at .
