The North Texas Fair and Rodeo closes its gates Saturday night (with the goat show truly wrapping the livestock show on Sunday) with concerts by Neal McCoy at 9:30 p.m. on the Budweiser Stage, and the Rusty Brothers at 11 p.m. on the Bud Light Stage.

Don’t think the final weekend of the fair and rodeo skimps on the action. The professional rodeo brings more broncos and bulls into the arena, and family events such as Mutton Bustin’ — in which youths try to ride a sheep in a timed event — keep the fair busy for all ages.

The weekend will also keep both of the main stages busy. Saturday’s headlining act, Neal McCoy, takes the stage to perform favorites from his 10 studio albums. Rising Red Dirt acts the Damn Quails and the Turnpike Troubadours are on the bill tonight.

Locals and visitors also have three more days to tour the exhibition halls, where the creative arts part of the fair is on display. The creative arts celebrates the domestic traditions of rural life: canning, needlework, clothing and antiques entered by adults and youths.
