All-day summer camps for ages 3 1/2 to 15 are open for registration. Camps are offered at McMath Middle School, 1900 Jason Drive; Denton Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney St.; and Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center. Cost is $105 per camper weekly, which includes a T-shirt, field trips, crafts and more. The Liberty Run 5K and 1-Mile Walk will be on July 4 at North Lakes Recreation Center, 2001 W. Windsor Drive. Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m. and the race starts at 7:30 a.m. The entry fee includes a T-shirt, and a drink and fruit at the end of the race. Register by July 2 online or in person at the Denton Civic Center, 321 E. McKinney St. Runners and walkers can register for $15 through July 2. Race-day registration will cost $20.

The Fourth of July Yankee Doodle Parade will go through downtown Denton starting at 9 a.m. July 4. To enter a float, visit www.dentonparks.com to complete an entry form. Judging of floats begins at 8:30 a.m. For more information, call 940-349-8579.

The Fourth of July Jubilee will take place at Quakertown Park and the Denton Civic Center, 321 E. Dance lessons begin in July. Ballet, tap and hip-hop are offered for ages 2 and older at North Lakes Recreation Center, 2001 W. The Ultimate Campout for kids in grade 1-5 will be on July 14-18. Campers will go to Turner Falls Park in Oklahoma and enjoy fishing, hiking, paddle boats, outdoor game, campfires, swimming and more. The Super Hero Adventures half-day camp for ages 3-5 will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon July 7-11 at the Denton Civic Center, 321 E. The Gaming Academy is a Youth Tech Inc. Computer Camp for ages 10-17. The camp is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 30-July 3 at Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center, 1300 Wilson St. Students will learn about 2-D and 3-D game design and will create their own video game. Ages 12-16 can enjoy the Outdoor Adventure Hike and Bike camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 7-10. Campers will go to different locations including Ray Roberts Lake State Park and Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center. Cost is $100. Ages 50 and up can try their hands at archery from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the indoor archery range at Cinnamon Creek Ranch, 13794 Old Denton Road in Roanoke. The trip will begin and end at the Denton Senior Center, 509 N. Bell Ave. Lunch will be Dutch treat afterward. Cost is $20 per person. Closed-toe shoes are required. Texas Isshinryu Karate Kai for ages 5 and older runs from July 1-31. Ages 5-7 meet from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Ages 8 and older meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. Sessions are taught at Denia Recreation Center, 1001 Parvin St. Classes cost $45 per student, and are led by world-champion black belts and hall of fame instructors.
