Sam Riggs and the Night People hit the stage tonight at Rockin’ Rodeo. They’re shown at a Dallas gig last year.

Austin’s Riggs makes it to country’s fast track

Sam Riggs and the Night People return to Denton for a show at 10 p.m. today at Rockin’ Rodeo, 1009 Ave. C.

Since his last local show, the Austin musician has seen his video “When the Lights Go Out” hit No. 1 on CMT Pure. He’s had a music spot on the hit show Nashville and a top five single on the Texas Music chart.

Riggs has shared the stage with Gary Allan, Josh Abbott, the Cody Johnson Band, Casey Donahew and Eli Young Band. He just landed his first headlining show at Billy Bob’s Texas, a legendary Fort Worth music venue, in October.

Riggs appears today with guests Prophets and Outlaws.

Tickets to the show are $10. For advance tickets and more information, visit http://ticketf.ly/1uIWrzY.
