UNT graduate Kedrick Brown appears in Lifetime’s “Surviving Compton” as Alonzo Williams of the Wreckin’ Cru.

University of North Texas graduate Kedrick Brown will appear in a Lifetime Original Movie premiering at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Brown will play Alonzo Williams of the World Class Wreckin’ Cru in Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Miche’le.

Hip-hop artist Michel’le, who recorded her first song “Before You Turn off the Lights” with the Wreckin’ Cru, examines the darker side of Compton hip-hop as she narrates the movie, which is based on her life story. Considered the first lady of Ruthless Records, Michel’le overcame abuse and adversity.

Brown appeared in the OWN series Greenleaf, ABC’s award-winning American Crime and the Starz series Survivor’s Remorse.

Brown is currently starring in the Ensemble Theatre’s 40th anniversary production of Sassy Mamas in Houston. He’ll co-star in Season 2 of the WGN series Underground, starring Aldis Hodge and Jurnee Smollett-Bell.

Brown earned his Bachelor of Arts in theater from UNT and trained in the University of Houston’s M.F.A. program with a focus in acting.
