Trip to ‘Wonderful’

Troupe brings Capra holiday classic to stage

“Look, Daddy. Teacher says every time you hear a bell ring, an angel gets his wings.”

ZuZu Bailey reminds her father, George Bailey, that grace comes quietly in the Christmas classic It’s a Wonderful Life.

Denton Community Theatre opens the stage version of the Frank Capra film on Friday.

One Christmas Eve, George Bailey (played by Bryan Patrick) is broken and distraught over misplacing a large amount of money and is sure he’ll lose everything to the evil millionaire Mr. Potter.

He is ready to end it all until his guardian angel, Clarence, literally falls to earth to help him see what would have happened to all the people that he cares about had he never been born.

Co-directors John Evarts and Pete Kelly have a large cast to bring Bedford Falls to the Denton stage. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. this Friday and Saturday and Dec. 14-15, as well as 2 p.m. Sunday and Dec. 16 , at the Campus Theatre, 214 W. Hickory St.

Tickets cost $20 for adults, $18 for seniors ages 62 and older, and $10 for students and children.

For reservations, call 940-382-1915, or visit  to choose your seats online.
