Find free fun for the family from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the fall installment of “Saturdays in the UNT Galleries,” a program offered by the University of North Texas Art Galleries and the student chapter of the National Art Education Association. The event at the UNT Art Building, 1201 W. Mulberry St., starts with standing yoga stretches and a poetry reading followed by an outdoor scavenger hunt led by visiting artists. The activities are inspired by the UNT Art Gallery’s current exhibition, “Beyond Natural,” which features sculptures by eight American artists exploring the relationship between humans and nature. Saturdays in the UNT Galleries is offered four weekends a year. Activities include artist presentations and art-making activities led by undergraduate art educators. Both the Saturdays in the UNT Galleries event and the Beyond Natural exhibition are free to visitors. While some parking may be available along the street, parking is also available at the Union Street Garage on Union Circle at Welch Street, one block from the Art Building. Cost is $2 an hour. Admission is free. For more information, visit http://gallery.unt.edu.
