Registration is open for University of North Texas summer camps and workshops.

Aviation Career Education Academy

Ages: High school juniors, seniors and recent high school graduates

When: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 12-16. Lunch is provided

Deadline: First come, first served

What: Students will fly with an experienced instructor and even co-pilot a small plane, fly drones, build model aircraft, use flight simulators, visit an air traffic control center, and learn about the physics that makes flight possible and become familiar with aviation and aerospace education and career paths.

Where: Erma C. Johnson Hadley Northwest Center of Excellence for Aviation, Transportation and Logistics, Tarrant County College's training site at Alliance Airport, 2301 Horizon Drive in Fort Worth.

Cost: $299

30th annual Bradetich Double Bass Masterclass

Ages: Advanced high school and college double bass students

When: June 20-24 on the UNT campus

What: Daily two-hour sessions on technique, orchestral repertoire and interpretation of solo literature. Bass ensembles rehearse throughout the week.

Drum Major & Student Leadership Camp

Ages: High school band students

When: June 22-25 on the UNT campus

Deadline: First come, first served

What: Conducting and student leadership development

Cost: $450 for resident students, $350 for commuter students
