Frisco lemonade stand will raise money to help kids fighting cancer

For a refreshing way to treat yourself and donate to pediatric cancer research and awareness at the same time, the seventh annual Lemonade Stand Fundraiser benefiting the Kids Shouldn't Have Cancer Foundation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 3 in Newman Village at 4131 Fallbrook Drive in Frisco.

Children in the Newman Village area will be selling fresh lemonade and homemade treats to patrons who wish to help raise funds for the nonprofit foundation. The first idea for the lemonade stands came from two brothers, Morgan and Maddox Patterson, and it's been going strong for years since. Last year, the fundraiser collected $20,000.

The Kids Shouldn't Have Cancer group, which began after the death of an 8-year old cancer patient named Jonny Wade, is also asking for sponsors to contribute to the cause. Deadline for sponsorship is July 28. For more information contact Terri Paterson-McElhaney at or 214-632-2400; Susan Fallon at or 214-794-0553; or Jill McMillan at or 214-636-1260.
