University of North Texas students are getting hands-on experience in a new mural class offered through the College of Visual Arts and Design. Students are painting two 37-foot-long murals in the Lightwell Gallery at the UNT Art Building. The mural pictured will include a tree showing the school as a place of growth, a footbridge illustrating students’ journey to the future, swimming fish and half of a girl’s face. The other mural will be white with sculptural pieces coming out of the wall. An opening reception is at 5 p.m. Thursday, and the murals will be on display through Aug. 1.
