“Being a faith-based, not-for-profit, we’re blessed with the ability to bring high-quality services at affordable prices without compromising a person’s quality of life or standard of living,” said Administrator Michael R. Larson. “We do our best to help everyone maximize their lives to the best of their abilities and desires.”

The facility also offers a number of health maintenance and wellness programs, maintains an indoor swimming pool and exercise room, and has a staff chaplain available to residents and their families and friends. The facility also works with local universities and school districts as a vocational training/externship site.

“We’re a full service CCRC (Continuing of Care Retirement Community),” Larson said.

Larson credits the high standards and staff for winning the community’s trust since it opened in Denton in 1976.

Best Chiropractor/Clinic

DeHart Chiropractic

1503 N. Elm St.

DeHart Chiropractic takes a “whole body healing” approach in providing chiropractic, acupuncture and allergy elimination treatments.

But it’s the approach to patients that makes all the difference, says Dr. Sara L. DeHart.

“This is a female-run business, so I think we are really in tune to the needs of our patients and just taking that extra care of them, that extra step,” she said. “Customer service isn’t something you really get much any more. Our business is touch, and a lot of people don’t get a whole lot of that either.”

DeHart is the owner and has been in practice for 17 years, and has been joined by associate Dr. Jennifer L. Polen.  They are also certified in pediatric and prenatal treatment.

“Our approach to whole body healing allows the body to heal itself,” according to a written response about the award. “With a caring staff and female doctors, we build relationships with our patients and their families. We genuinely care about getting our patients well.”

Taylor says his chairside assistants have been with him for the entire 30 years, and other staff members have been with him for a long time. Patients will see the same faces when they return for treatment, he said.

Taylor also believes it is important to listen to patients to learn their expectations and how he can care for them. He practices general dentistry, with patients ranging from infant to 100, and also has an interest in restoring implants and doing cosmetic work.

He was born and raised in Denton, and says he never considered practicing anywhere else.

The center offers a variety of massages, including deep tissue, prenatal, sports, Swedish, hot stone and integrative massage, as well as aromatherapy and reflexology. They are available for on-site chair massage for offices and events, and are available by appointment seven days a week.
