The latest exhibit of the Denton-based Visual Arts Society of Texas dedicates most of Texas Woman’s University’s East and West galleries to society members’ paintings. And yet the juried exhibit also features photography, pencil drawing, fiber art and one piece of jewelry.
The exhibit was selected by painter Marilyn Ivy, the studio and family programs coordinator at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth. Before coordinating the program at the Kimball, Ivy was a lecturer in drawing and art education at Texas Christian University. She also taught art at L.D. Bell High School in Hurst.
Society members with artwork in the exhibit include: Andrea Albright, Tina Alvarez, Rhonda Barefield, David Blow, Darla Bostick, Lynne Buchanan, Carolyn Buchmann, Robin Butt, John Calabrese, Evalyn Coulter, Gail Williamson Cope, Isabel Cano, Aurora Cabrera Dawson, Angelia Ford, Lorraine Hayes, Becca Hines, Millie Johnson, Thomas Judd, Maurice Leatherbury, Alex Lieban, Tonya Littmann, Joan McDermott, Abigail Mount Miller, Mary Sigle Morris, Roxanne Musick, Donna Park, Raymond Pahler, Dulce Ruque, Ingrid Scobie, Chris Scruggs, Eloise Sears, Ray Sears, Fran White Shurtleff, Glenda Smith, Dawn Swepston, Carmen Underwood, Nancy Allen Waldo, Gary Washmon, Laurie Weller, Jo Williams, Bobbie Windle and Mary Wright.
