Jim and Judy Gwilliam

There was a story- a joke - quite popular several years ago of a couple approaching their 20th wedding anniversary. She hinted broadly that she had never gotten roses for an anniversary. On the appointed day a vase of long stemmed red roses appeared. Her face beamed and her heart raced but as she gazed at the not so freely proffered tribute the radiant look turned to puzzlement. After some moments she spoke, "Okay, I am thrilled to get the roses, but why 16?I would understand a dozen or 24.Twenty would make sense since we have been married 20 years; but why 16?""That's easy," said he, "I gave you one rose for every good year you have given me."A flash of hurt and anger came into her eyes but gave way almost instantly to thoughtful contemplation. She reached and pulled four more roses from the vase, dropped them into a waste basket and walked silently out of the room.

AT OUR 50TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY at the front of the room, there will be a bouquet of fifty long steamed red roses-One for every good year you have given me!
