Lynn Sheffield Simmons: Argyle council approves addition of CVS Pharmacy

The Argyle Town Council recently approved a 14,600-square-foot CVS Pharmacy with a drive-through to be located on 2.2 acres at the northeast corner of FM407 and U.S. Highway 377 south of Earl’s 377 Pizza. The building is expected to be completed by April.

Kimzey’s Coffee, located behind Earl’s 377 Pizza on U.S. 377, is under construction to include a dine-in and a drive-through when the project is finished.

The completion date is set for the end of this year.

Matt Jones, Argyle’s director of community development, said, “We are excited to provide additional services and retail opportunities for the community, and we look forward to welcoming these businesses to Argyle.”

Argyle Community Carnival slated

Argyle Middle School PTO is sponsoring an Argyle Community Carnival at 6601 Canyon Falls Drive on Friday, Sept. 30, from at 6 to 9 p.m.

There will be a special VIP entrance at 5:30 p.m. for sponsors paying $250 or more.

Local clubs and organizations are welcome to have activity booths and offer a carnival-type game with small prizes.

Tickets will be collected to play the game and then exchanged for a 50 percent profit for the club or organization.

Originally, the middle school was in the Argyle high school building, but as the school’s population grew, some of the classes were moved to portable buildings. This school year, the Argyle ISD opened its new $29.5 million Argyle Middle School, located south of Argyle in the Canyon Falls area near Flower Mound.

For more information about the carnival, email Jayne Krause at argylemsclubs@gmail.com.
