Rockefeller tree cut in upstate New York

This year’s Rockefeller Center Christmas tree is beginning its journey from upstate New York to Manhattan.

The 94-foot Norway spruce in Oneonta was cut down Thursday morning and loaded on a truck.

The spruce will make the 140-mile trip to Manhattan and is expected to arrive Saturday.

The tree’s 50,000 lights will be switched on during a live television broadcast Nov. 30.

The tree was on the property of Angie and Graig Eichler.

Prince museum adds tour dates, fan packages

Prince’s Paisley Park plans to offer new, themed fan packages and is adding tour dates through March 31.

The museum in suburban Minneapolis said Thursday that the new tour packages start Dec. 1.

On Thursdays, VIP tour ticket holders can record vocals over a short segment of a Prince song in the Studio B control room and take the live mix home.

Also starting in December, guests can attend a Friday evening “Paisley Park After Dark” dance party.

Saturday evenings will feature Prince movies and rare performance footage.

On Sundays, the “Brunch Experience” VIP tour will include a meal in Prince’s private NPG Music Club.

Prince’s studio complex and home opened as a museum in October.
