9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Full Gospel Family Worship Center will give away free clothes and some household items at 209 Mockingbird Lane. The church also will accept canned goods for its food pantry. Call 940-382-1822.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Fall craft bazaar at Asbury United Methodist Church, 117 Hercules Lane.

10 a.m. — Spooktacular Play Day at the Ridin’ for the Brand Cowboy Church arena, 5926 W. FM455 in Sanger. Four events and a special “costume class” will be held with prizes. On Saturday night, a Truck-or-Treat event will be held on the hill behind the church. Call 940-765-1324 or 940-765-1321.

11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. — Empty Bowls Soup Luncheon at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 300 W. Oak St. Tickets cost $15. Call 940-387-1984.

Noon to 4 p.m. — “Holyween” carnival in the gymnasium at Immaculate Conception Catholic School, 2301 N. Bonnie Brae St. Event includes food, games, bounce houses, haunted house and more. Kids’ costume contest begins at 2 p.m. Visit .

3 to 5 p.m. — Venture Fall Festival at Hawk Elementary School, 2300 Oakmont Drive, Corinth. Event includes visits by Corinth police and Lake Cities firefighters, bounce houses, train rides, a petting zoo, face painting and trunk-or-treat. E-mail .



11 a.m. and 3 p.m. — 137th anniversary services at St. James AME Church, 1107 E. Oak St. The afternoon service will feature the Rev. Reginald T. Brown, pastor of County Line First Baptist Church in Pilot Point. Call 940-387-1223.

1 p.m. — Performance by ABANA gospel/jazz music ensemble, celebrating the 23rd anniversary of Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 1944 E. Hebron Parkway, Carrollton. Free. Visit .

3 p.m. — “The Vocal Euphonium,” featuring Brian Bowman and Steven Harlos, at First Presbyterian Church, 1114 W. University Drive. Free, but donations will benefit the scholarship fund of the Denton Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota.

3 p.m. — “I Am a Name, Not a Number,” a program about invasion of privacy and freedom and other topics, at Bethel Temple Fellowship, 3520 E. McKinney St. Visit  or call 940-300-6132.



9 a.m. to noon — Fall Preview Day at Liberty Christian School, 1301 S. U.S. Highway 377 in Argyle. Preview includes viewing of classes, student-led tours and meeting with administrators and principals.



6 to 7:30 p.m. — Share the Harvest Festival at First United Methodist Church, 201 S. Locust St. Dress in fun costumes to enjoy trunk-or-treating, hay rides, carnival games for children, a cupcake walk and snack supper. Admission is a donation of canned foods for the Denton Community Food Center.

6 to 8 p.m. — Support group for families of inmates and for ex-offenders at Denton Bible Church, 2300 E. University Drive. Free meal, free child care and classes for kindergarten through middle school offered. Call 940-297-6745.

6:30 to 8:30 p.m. — Friendship Church Fall Festival at 3813 W. University Drive. Event includes games, bounce houses, face painting and candy. Free. Visit  or call 940-230-5131.
