Hartlee Christina Orr of Denton and Jordan Robert Kirk of Crosbyton, Texas were united in marriage on July 13, 2013 at the chapel of Denton Bible Church in Denton, Texas. The ceremony was officiated by Bill Davis of First Baptist Church of Lubbock, where the couple met.

The bride is the daughter of Darien and Bill Orr III of Denton, and the granddaughter of Joanne and Bob Moses of Denton, Judy and the late Glenn Ison of Fairview, Texas and the late Dorothy and W.C. Orr Jr. of Denton. The groom is the son of Terry and Martha Kirk of Crosbyton, Texas, and the grandson of the late Charlotte and Billy Kirk and the late Mary and Robert Work.

Escorted by her father, Hartlee wore a strapless allover ivory lace over oyster satin mermaid gown with a sweetheart neckline adorned with scattered jewel and pearl hand-beading. The scalloped hemline spilled into a chapel length train. The dress was accented at the waist by a French silk ribbon sash with beading and ribbon rosettes, and an ivory tulle elbow length veil edged in silver bugle beads. The handle of the bride’s bouquet of pale pink roses and ivory peonies was wrapped in an antique embroidered handkerchief given to the bride’s mother on her wedding day by the late Dorothy Orr.

The maid of honor was Callie Shea Christner. Bridesmaids were her sisters Peyton Orr Swick and Elisha Orr Bomar, sister of the groom Abilou Kirk Amundson, Sarah Beth and Leah Hudspeth, and Mary Beth Matheny. The bridal party’s bouquets were each wrapped in antique handkerchiefs which the bride personalized with embroidery. Best man was Taylor Kirk, brother of the groom, and groomsmen were brother-in-law Ryan Amundson, William Orr, brother of the bride, Corey White, Matt Shields, Reese Scarborough and Nate Arismendez. Nephew Brody Bomar and cousin Evan Moses heralded the bride’s arrival with bubble guns. Ushers were Anthony Esch and Alex Ewers, and the house party included Lemmi Moume, Jerin Jacob and Chasya Lynch.

After the ceremony the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Center for Visual Arts where in addition to cake and finger foods, customized Beth Marie’s ice cream flavors for the bride and groom were served. On the eve of the wedding the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner with dancing at the home of Vaughan and Shelley Christner in Denton.

Hartlee graduated from Denton Calvary Academy, Denton, in 2010, and attended Texas Tech University for three years before transferring to Louisiana Tech this fall where she will complete her degree in Elementary Education. Jordan graduated from Idalou High School, Idalou, TX in 2009 and Texas Tech University in 2013 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Whitacre College of Engineering. The couple now live in Ruston, LA, near Minden where the groom is employed as an engineer by Conoco Phillips.

The couple honeymooned on the island of St. Martin.
