Alyssa Jamison McClendon of Denton, Texas, and Brendon Taylor Kelso, also of Denton, were united in marriage on Saturday, November 14, 2015. The ceremony was held at First Baptist Church, in Denton, with Reverend Brad Cockrell officiating. Music for the ceremony was provided by dear family friends Tonya Blankenship, John Dill, Chrys Owens, and Jeremy Hassell. The bride wore a designer crystal-adorned lace gown by Watters of Dallas. The cathedral length veil was also accented with lace and Swarovski crystals. She carried the family Bridal Bible and a brooch bouquet made by her mother.Following the ceremony, the brides’ parents hosted a dinner dance reception at the Robson Ranch Ballroom.
The bride is the daughter of Laurence and Donna McClendon. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Helen Abercrombie and the late Don Abercrombie and the late Dr. and Mrs. Harry McClendon. The groom is the son of Don and Jean Kelso of Big Spring, Texas. He is the grandson of Reverend Frank and Betty Barnes and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kelso.
Sydney Davis served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Caymen Rutledge Keen, Jamie Paton Mason, Ashlyn Anderson Swan, Kali Morris and Arianna Bencid. The flower girl was Brenley Kelso, niece of the groom, and the daughter of Clayton and Kelsey Kelso.
Clayton Kelso, brother of the groom served as best man. Groomsmen were Josh Norvill, Seth Higgins, Caleb Groteluschen, Barrett McClendon, brother of the bride, and Austen Ewing. The ring bearer was Brady Cox, son of Kevin and Lynn Cox.
The bride is a graduate of Denton High School and the University of North Texas where she obtained a Bachelor’s in Social Work. She is currently obtaining her Master’s in Christian Counseling at Dallas Baptist University. The groom is a graduate of Jacksboro High School and Hardin Simmons University where he obtained a Bachelor’s in Bible and a Master’s in Kinesiology Sport Recreation. He is a track and field coach at the University of North Texas.
The Kelsos will enjoy a winter honeymoon in Vail, Colorado, and will live in Denton, Texas.
