Betty and Richard Corley will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on August 18, 2012.The couple was married at First Baptist Church in Throckmorton, Texas.Prior to graduating from Texas Tech in 1962, the couple met and dated during their college years.After their marriage, they lived in the Dallas area for several years before moving to Denton in 1972.Betty is a homemaker and Richard is a retired engineer.
The Corley’s are active members of First Baptist Church in Denton.Betty is a lifetime member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and over the years has participated in local activities such as Denton Benefit league and Ariel Club of which she is an honorary life member.Richard has served as a Deacon at First Baptist since 1992.Since retirement, he has occupied himself by playing as much golf as possible and also by participating in charitable work with Habitat for Humanity and Our Daily Bread. Both Richard and Betty are members of Denton Country Club.
The couple has one married daughter, Gayla and a son-in-law Jeff Pruett who live in San Antonio.Gayla is a shareholder with the law firm Langley and Banack, Inc. and Jeff is a Vice President with Wells Fargo.
Over the years, the family enjoyed extensive travel in the US and abroad with a fun trip always planned somewhere.
