The family of Steve and Nancy (Geesling) Bowles would like to congratulate them on their 50th wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Bowles were married on August 24, 1963. Rev. Odell Bowles officiated the ceremony at Cooper Creek Baptist Church in Denton, Texas. Steve was born in Coppell and is the son of Dennis and Grace (Littrell) Bowles. He was raised in Denton and the surrounding areas and graduated from Denton High School in 1961. He owned and operated a dairy which led to transporting milk and then driving trucks. He has worked for the Alan Ritchey Company for the past 31 years. Nancy was born in Denton and is the daughter of E.E. and Myrtle (Brearley) Geesling. She was raised in the Cooper Creek area and graduated from Denton High School in 1961. She worked for the Sanger ISD and is retired from Victor Equipment Company.
Their children are Gary Bowles and his wife Kelley, Steven Bowles and his wife Shelia; granddaughter Piper and grandson Chisolm.
After living in Sanger for more than 30 years the couple now resides in Era, Texas where they enjoy spending much time in their garden and visiting with family. In July they took a cruise to Alaska with extended time in Washington State to commemorate their 50 years of marriage and love for each other.
A reception will be held in their honor from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Gateway United Baptist Church, 2401 N. Bell Ave., Denton, Texas. If you are friends or family of Steve and Nancy and did not get an invitation, it was not our intention to omit anyone, please come and visit with our family. No gifts please; however, cards, letters and memorable stories are welcome.
