Joe and Linda Davis were married on June 20, 1964 in Nocona, Texas.
They will celebrate their 50 wonderful years together with a reception given by their three children and twelve grandchildren: Chris Davis and family of Nashville, Tennessee, Laura Davis Richmond and family of Boston, Massachusetts, and Joshua Davis and family of Waco, Texas.
The reception will be in Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, Denton, Texas, from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2014. All friends and family are invited.
Linda is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a Masters in Elementary Supervision and has enjoyed being a fourth grade teacher, mother, homemaker, and mentor to young women. She is currently a substitute teacher with the Denton Independent School District. Joe is a graduate of Austin College with a Master of Arts in Education and has taught history, coached basketball, worked as an educational representative for Random House Publishers, and enjoyed serving the people of Denton as the owner and manager of Martus Christian Bookstore from 1973 - 2004. He has a ministry, Shout of the King, and enjoys working with Freedom House and mentoring men.
Joe and Linda are active members of First Baptist Church of Denton and enjoy reading, gardening, antiquing, traveling, cooking, and sharing hospitality.
