William and Andra Penny of Denton are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Mary Alice Parker Penny to Jared Ean Stansel, son of Jerry and Denise Stansel, also of Denton. Parker and Jared, both life-long residents of Denton, were married on the historic grounds of the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square on May 21, 2011. The ceremony was performed by Reverend Russell Floyd of Dallas, a family friend. Following the service, friends and family celebrated with a dinner and dance in the Sherman Building courtyard which had been transformed into a vintage garden by Precious Creations of Dallas. Marquees on both the Campus Theatre and Fine Arts Theatre announced the joyous occasion.
The bride is a graduate of Coppell High School and 2010 graduate of Texas A&M in College Station with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Journalism. Parker is employed at Southridge Animal Hospital as a Veterinary Technician.  The groom is a graduate of Ryan High School and a 2009 graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Criminal Justice. Jared is currently a graduate student at the University of North Texas pursuing a Masters Degree in Education.
Escorted by her father, Parker arrived at the square from the historic Lane home on Oak Street in a turquoise 1952 Chevrolet Bel-Air. She wore an ivory vintage gown created by Maggie Sattero. The strapless design featured floral rosettes and jeweled embellishments. Parker wore earrings belonging to her late maternal grandmother with a matching broach attached to her bridal bouquet of colorful wildflowers.
Ms. Jordan Jones, cousin of the bride, of Tyler, TX, served as Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids included Ms. Lauren Skewis of Chicago, Il., Ms. Nelia Duchamp of Minot, ND and Mrs. Hilary Macrae of Fairbanks, Ak. All were fellow Aggies from TAMU. The attendants wore chocolate brown cocktail length dresses and carried bouquets of bright colored wildflowers. A tea honoring Parker and her bridesmaids was held on Saturday morning at the Chestnut Tree Tea Room on The Square.
The groom's best man was Mr. Jacob Stansel, brother of the groom, of San Diego, CA. Groomsmen were SHSU ultimate frisbee teammates Mr. Alex Segovia of Houston, TX , Mr. Greg Allen of Clear Lake, TX and Mr. Bryce Lippitz, of Longview, TX.
Following a wedding trip to Tennessee and the Smoky Mountains, Parker and Jared are residing in their hometown of Denton.
