Lauren Ann Coley of Krum, Texas, and Wesley Downs, of Denton, Texas, were united in marriage on May 23, 2014, at Rose Hill Church of Christ in Columbus, Georgia. Judge Marc D’Antonio presided at the wedding. A symbolic unity sand ceremony was performed during the marriage, to signify the couple’s union, surrounded by purple and white orchids. A family dinner and reception followed at Rose Hill House.

The bride is the daughter of Steven and Rebecca Coley of Krum. She is the granddaughter of Charles and Mary Ann Steele of Lone Grove, Oklahoma, and the late Mary Fances Coley of Ringling, Oklahoma. The groom is the son of Wilma Waddell Downs of Hebden Bridge, United Kingdom, and Grant Downs of Holyhead Wales, United Kingdom.

The bride wore a strapless, satin mermaid dress with a sweetheart neckline. The dress had a floor-length chapel train and was complemented by a mantilla veil.

The Matron of Honor was Catherine Coley, sister of the bride, and the Maid of Honor was Jessica Jones. The Best Man was Brandon Jones and Robbie Crauder served as Groomsman.

Lauren is a senior at Texas Woman’s University in Denton. She is currently employed by Victoria’s Secret. Wesley is 2012 a graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom and is currently training in the U.S. Army at Fort Benning, Georgia.

The couple will reside in Denton until the groom receives his assigned U.S. Army station.
